3rd grade Dialogue Oral Rubric

Clothes, costumes and props.	Students use costumes, clothes and props that show work and creativity so the setting is clear and attracts the audience attention.	Sts use costumes or props, which do not generate interest.	Sts do not use costumes or props so the setting is not clear.
Preparedness.	Sts are completely prepared, have obviously rehearsed so the flow of the dialogue generate makes it appealing.	Some sts miss their lines so the dialogue does not flow and it lacks appeal. Sts may have needed a couple more rehearsals.	Sts miss their lines, it is clear that rehearsal is lacking, the dialogue is not easy to understand.
Speak clearly.	Sts speak clearly all the time and mispronounce no words so the dialogue is easy to follow.	Few sts mumble, cannot be understood, or mispronounce words so the dialogue is sometimes difficult to understand.	Most sts mumble, cannot be understand and/or mispronounce words so the dialogue is not clear.
Volume.	The dialogue is loud enough to be heard during all the presentation.	Volume is loud enough to be sometimes heard by all audience members.	Volume is often too soft to be heard by all audience members.
Posture and enthusiasm.	Posture and body language generate interest and enthusiasm. Sts look relaxed.	Some of the sts’ posture and body language generate interest and enthusiasm. Some sts look relaxed.	Most sts do not look relaxed; very few use body language, which do not generate interest or enthusiasm.
Content and creativity.	Sts take risks and use vocabulary and structures beyond expectations.	Sts create their own dialogue but some required vocabulary and/or structures are lacking; or, sts do not take any risk.	Sts do not create a dialogue but use a dialogue from the textbook showing no interest and creativity.
